Fall Color Trends

Each season there are colors that keep popping up throughout collections. This fall you need to be on the lookout for pieces in tan, red, olive, purple, light blue and a variety of metallics. Even though high end designers used these colors in their collections, don't worry- you do not need to pay designer prices to look perfect this fall.

Tan

This color was seen on the runways of Armani Privé, Gucci, Chloé, Michael Kors and Dries van Noten. A classic trench is an easy way to incorporate this color into your wardrobe. Plus, a trench is an essential, in my opinion.

Red

Red is going to be so much fun to wear this fall, especially since red lips are on trend as well. Dolce & Gabbana, Jill Staurt, Marc by Marc Jacobs and others let this hue brighten up their shows.

Olive

Military inspired looks and colors were popular last fall, as well as this spring and summer. The trend continues and Burberry Prorsum did it to perfection. Pringle of Scotland and Fendi also showed olive in their collections.

Purple

Purple is one of my favorite colors, as it is the color of my alma mater, so I am biased. But, purple is pretty much universally flattering and add a richness to looks. This gem tone graced the runways of Preen, Tadashi Shoji, Burberry Prorsum, Oscar de la Renta and more.

Light Blue

Pastel colors are usually reserved for spring, so seeing this hue in the fall is refreshing. Gray blue and pale blue in heavy fabrics will keep you at the top of the fashion heap. Chanel, Christian Dior and Philip Lim 3.1 all used light blue this fall.

Metallics

Metallics were on trend this spring and summer, and it is continuing for fall. Metallics add a shimmer and shine to your wardrobe that will perk up any look. Marc Jacobs and Alexander Wang favored this color trend.
