Neck High

Fall trend alert: high necklines. Valentino showed high necklines and short hemlines in the fall/winter 2010 couture show. So, ladies, cover up your cleavage and show those legs!

Luckily, this is a simple look to translate from the runway into everyday life. A high neckline is already office appropriate, so you just need to adjust the skirt length from mini to just above the knee. For other occasions, a mini skirt or dress should work wonderfully.

This is a great look because the covered top balances the short hemline. Wearing a low v-neck top and mini-skirt bares too much skin, but the opposite isn't flattering either.

Anyone that I talk fashion with will find that I have more than a slight obsession with long sleeved mini-dresses. A long sleeved mini-dress, as long as it isn't cleavage bearing, is a perfect piece to incorporate this trend into your wardrobe.

For those that have chilly winters, leggings, opaque tights and patterned tights will keep your legs warm while still wearing a short hemline. But, pairing tall boots with this look will not achieve the same effect as the Valentino looks. If you are tall and leggy, calf high boots would work for you. But, for us normal people, heels are your best bet, and booties also work.
