If you are looking for an interesting piece of jewelry, go with a natural look. Nature's geodes and turquoise are beautiful and unique. I have a blueish gray geode wire wrapped ring from Revolver, a local upscale consignment boutique. Every single time I wear it, I get tons of compliments and people asking where they can find it.

Dara Ettinger graduated from Parsons School of Design. Upon graduating, she worked for a multitude of clothing companies, including Polo Ralph Lauren, Cynthia Steffe and Anthropolgie. She moved to Los Angeles from New York to work on her jewelry line, which is lucky for us since her jewelry is fabulous! Devon Leigh is another jewelry designer that utilizes natural materials. Devon studied film at Loyola Marymount University, but found her hobby of making jewelry taking over her career aspirations. The Los Angeles native will make one-of-a-kind pieces that include diamonds and other precious gems for a sure to be show stopping piece.

Heather Moore began her Cleveland, Ohio based company in 1994. She uses 100% recycled materials; each piece is unique due to natural materials. Heather will also customize jewelry for a special gift that will last forever. The personalization process is done by hand using vintage tools of the trade.

Next time you are looking for an unexpected, yet beautiful, strong, yet feminine accessory, look for jewelry made from natural materials that haven't been altered (too much!) from their original state.
