Tan
This color was seen on the runways of Armani Privé, Gucci, Chloé, Michael Kors and Dries van Noten. A classic trench is an easy way to incorporate this color into your wardrobe. Plus, a trench is an essential, in my opinion.
Hayden Yoo Jun Cotton Twill Trench, $99 from Gilt
Yoana Baraschi Supernature Desert Caftan Dress, $119 from Rue Lala
BCBG Heather Beige Cardigan, $91 from Blue Fly
Red
Red is going to be so much fun to wear this fall, especially since red lips are on trend as well. Dolce & Gabbana, Jill Staurt, Marc by Marc Jacobs and others let this hue brighten up their shows.
Single Red Horseshoe Neckline Dress, $119 from ideeli
Betsey Johnson Red Heart Button A-Line Coat, $119 Blue Fly
Paul and Joe Sister Andromed Cowl Neck Dress, $225 from Net-a-Porter
Olive
Military inspired looks and colors were popular last fall, as well as this spring and summer. The trend continues and Burberry Prorsum did it to perfection. Pringle of Scotland and Fendi also showed olive in their collections.
American Retro New Chic Pants, $75 from The OutNet
McQ Houndstooth Crepe Pencil Skirt, $99.75 from The OutNet
Development Olive Satin Petal Sleeve Top, $156 from Blue Fly
Purple
Purple is one of my favorite colors, as it is the color of my alma mater, so I am biased. But, purple is pretty much universally flattering and add a richness to looks. This gem tone graced the runways of Preen, Tadashi Shoji, Burberry Prorsum, Oscar de la Renta and more.
Yoana Baraschi Supernature Marine Caftan, $99 from Rue Lala
See by Chloé Jacquard Ruffle Dress, $252 from The OutNet
Matty M Black Orchid Silk Beaded Top, $64 from Blue Fly
Light Blue
Pastel colors are usually reserved for spring, so seeing this hue in the fall is refreshing. Gray blue and pale blue in heavy fabrics will keep you at the top of the fashion heap. Chanel, Christian Dior and Philip Lim 3.1 all used light blue this fall.
Love Quotes Italian Linen Scarf, $88 from Tobi
Alberta Ferretti Draped Silk Dress, $386.75 from The OutNet
Marc by Marc Jacobs Blue Top, $138 from Blue Fly
Metallics
Metallics were on trend this spring and summer, and it is continuing for fall. Metallics add a shimmer and shine to your wardrobe that will perk up any look. Marc Jacobs and Alexander Wang favored this color trend.
Milly Metallic Brocade Dress, $146 from The OutNet
Free People Metallic Top, $55 from Blue Fly
Alex Lane Pewter Metallic Blazer, $219 from Blue Fly
Add these colors to your fall wardrobe to stay ahead of the curve.
