If you do a search for "AKA New York" you will come up with results for Tiffany Pollard, aka New York from Flavor of Love. Do not be scared! New York has not created a clothing line.

Skin Secrets Revealed

You finally get over teenage acne and have a few years free of face trouble. Then, adult acne hits followed by fine lines, discoloration and dark circles under your eyes. Instead of layering on more makeup and trying every product under the sun (I have tried everything), I will save you the time and frustration by telling you my magic secret.

First, to get rid of the acne, which I unfortunately still get, I just dab a bit of Rite Aid benzyl peroxide cream on each trouble spot for a day or so. If you have more troublesome acne, follow Dan's Regimen and you will see immediate results. Note: I tried using generic Cetaphil products and they don't work as well.

Besides being long lasting, this stuff really works. I could tell a difference in my under eye area after a day. You simply follow the facial routine in the morning and night, using an exfoliating scrub twice a week (I like MAC's Microfine Refinisher and Arbonne's FC5 Exfoliating New Cell Scrub), and your skin will feel softer and more plump. You skin will look more even and velvety, plus those annoying little lines start to disappear.

Makeup for the Pool & Beach

Victoria's Secret and Sports Illustrated models look perfect as they roll on the beach sand and splash in the water. I wish I could jump out of bed, throw on my bikini and head to the beach and look that good. But, that isn't my reality and it isn't theirs either.

MAC Paint, $16.50

Hair is simple- a pony tail or loose bun is quick, add a headband for fly-aways or a few bobby pins to keep bangs back, top it all off with a hat to shade your precious face and protect your hair from the sun. The sun is the enemy of colored hair!

Tinted Lip Conditioner SPF 15, $14.50

Wearing makeup and protecting your face goes hand in hand; just follow these simple steps:

• After cleansing your face, apply oil free sunscreen and let it dry


• Apply facial lotion with sunscreen; I like Arbonne's RE9 Restorative Day Creme SPF 20 (Click here to order)


• Apply MAC's Mineralize Satinfinish SPF 15 Foundation


• Set foundation with MAC's Iridescent Powder; this powder is great because it is not heavy and gives you a glow


• Apply MAC's Blushcreme to the apples of your cheeks for subtle color; just touch your index finger once to the blush (really, just down and then right back up) and dab on to your cheeks, blend using your fingers


• Use MAC's Shadestick, Paint Pot, or Paint as eyeshadow- layer, mix and have fun!


• Apply eyeliner on your top lid with MAC's Powerpoint Eye Pencil


• Curl lashes (clamp lashes as close to the base as possible and hold for 20 seconds) and apply MAC's Splashproof Lash mascara


• Apply MAC's Tinted Lip Conditioner SPF 15; this product will melt if exposed to direct sunlight, so keep it in a cosmetics bag in your beach bag and cover it with your coverup, extra towel, etc


• Spay face with MAC's Fix + and use a brush to dab all over your face- like a 182 or 150 brush

Just remember to pick colors that aren't too dark or harsh. It is better to use golds, corals, pinks and even teals rather than darker blues, purples or grays.

Interior Decorating with Rodarte

According to Racked, Rodarte has contributed 8 fabrics to Knoll Luxe. The design duo of Kate and Laura Mulleavy focused on fabric to be used for window treatments. But, at an average of $315 a yard I'm not sure how many Rodarte draped windows there will be.

Their Emerson fabric will be in Knoll Luxe's permanent line; the rest of the fabrics are limited editions. The fabrics have a light, airy feel that will add texture and dimension to a room without making the space dark or heavy.

The window treatments are beautiful and would look fabulous in modern homes and apartments.

My Favorite Lines Series: AG Adriano Goldschmied

Adriano Goldschmied is considered the Godfather of Denim; that means he knows jeans in, out, back and front.

Goldschmied founded Diesel in 1978 with business partner, Renzo Rosso. Goldschmied was Rosso's boss at AG Jeans before starting Diesel. Goldschmied left Diesel after 7 years and spent time consulting with Gap, DKNY, Mavi and more.

Goldschmied then started AG Adriano Goldschmied in 1997; the denim was sold in Japan and proved to be popular. In 2000, the line launched in North America and Europe. Just 4 years later, in 2004, Goldschmied left the company to pursue other interests.

Citizens of Humanity, founded by Jerome Dahn formerly of 7 For All Mankind in 2003, named Goldschmied as partner in 2007.

However, AG Adriano Goldschmied remains one of my favorite denim lines. My "Tribeca" jeans are my go-to pair whether I'm heading out for errands, grabbing a drink or hanging out with friends for the evening.

Nudist Alert!

Nude is in. Well, not completely nude, just the color...or lack there of. Soft nudes in varying shades are popular this summer and will continue to be on trend through the fall and winter.

Nudes are popular because the range of shades lets everyone find their perfect nude. Also, nudes can be casual or dressy. You can wear varying shades of nude at once for a modern, chic look. If you have a bold shoe or piece of jewelry, wearing nude is a perfect way to draw attention to your statement piece. Pairing a nude top with a colorful skirt, say green, is sure to make a statement.

Be warned though, wearing a nude that is the exact or very similar color to your skin will make you appear, well, nude. This is not the desired effect of this trend. You want the focus to be on you, not whether or not you are actually wearing clothes.

However, a nude shoe that is very close to you skin tone is perfectly acceptable. Nude heels are flattering on everyone. These heels will make your legs appear longer and leaner, therefore, you will look taller and slimmer. Now that is a trick everyone can use.
